I offer you an easy recipe to prepare at home this beloved dip.

Ingredients for a bowl
- 400 grams of tomato sauce
- 30 grams of raw cane sugar
- 50 grams of red onion (about ½)
- 30 grams of white wine vinegar
- 10 grams of flour (any kind, I used spelt flour)
- A pinch of salt
- 5 tbsp of olive oil
- ½ tsp of chili pepper
- ½ tsp of pepper
Preparation
Cut finely the onion and fry it in a pot with olive oil. When the onion is browned, add tomato sauce, raw cane sugar, white wine vinegar, flour, salt, olive oil, chili pepper, and pepper.
Cook it on low heat for an hour, checking it regularly.
After an hour, turn off the heat and mix it using an immersion blender.
Put it in a bowl and let it cool.
Ketchup can be kept in the fridge for five days, or it can be frozen.
This recipe is excellent to taste with french fries and tofu nuggets.
