Wine ciambelle
"Ciambelle al vino" is a type of biscuit typical of Italy’s region Lazio, in particular of the Castelli Romani area. These biscuits are also called "'mbriachelle" because they are usually eaten while drinking wine ("'mbriaco" means drunk). The recipe is as easy as delicious.

Ingredients for about 35 biscuits
- 500 grams of flour
- 10 grams of baking powder
- 100 grams of sugar
- 140 grams of white wine
- 120 grams of sunflower oil
- ½ tsp of aniseed
- A pinch of salt
To decorate:
- 20 grams of sugar
Preparation
In a bowl, combine all the following ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, white wine, sunflower oil, aniseed, and salt. Knead the dough until it is smooth.
Remove a piece of the dough and work the dough until you shape it into a round biscuit with a central hole (like a donut). Decorate the biscuit with sugar.
Repeat the same procedure until you finish the dough.
Cook for 25 minutes in a static oven at 180 °C.
Wine ciambelle can be kept in the fridge for five days.
