Vegan dum aloo
Dum aloo is a very well-known dish in India. It consists of potatoes cooked in a sauce made of tomatoes and yogurt.

Ingredients for two people
- 500 grams of potatoes (about 5)
- 100 grams of onion (about 1)
- 200 grams of tomato sauce
- 240 grams of unsweetened non-dairy yogurt (I suggest soy yogurt)
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tsp of salt
- A pinch of pepper
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 1 tsp of coriander seeds
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- ½ tsp of chili pepper
Preparation
First of all, boil the potatoes in hot water.
Slice the onion and cook it in a saucepan with oil.
After a few minutes, pour in the saucepan tomato sauce, plant-based yogurt, salt, pepper, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garam masala, and chili pepper. Let cook for about 10 minutes.
At this moment, add to the pan the boiled potatoes and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve dum aloo warm, along with rice and aloo paratha.
Dum aloo can be stored in the fridge for two days.
