Ingredients for four people
- 400 grams of red lentils
- 400 milliliters of coconut milk
- 200 grams of rice
- 60 grams of onion (about ½)
- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1 tbsp of curry
- 1 tsp of turmeric
- 1 tbsp of cumin
- 1 tbsp of ras el hanout
- A pinch of pepper
- A pinch of chili pepper
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tbsp of salt
Preparation
First of all, cook the rice in salty water. While waiting, cut the onion and let it cook in a pot with olive oil, curry, turmeric, pepper, cumin, and ras el hanout. When the onion is browned, add red lentils, salt, coconut milk, and water to cover everything. Mix and let it cook for 30 minutes (if it is necessary, add water until the lentils turn out soft).
When the dahl has thickened, add the cherry tomatoes and serve with rice.
Red lentil dahl can be kept in the fridge for two days.
